After a rough 2025 where soaring industry costs saw Horsetorque forced to shut its doors, 2 surgeries around that and the year of the snake did its thing.

As ever all has a silver lining and the surgeries forced some time to assess where I was and where I was going. After 3 months away all pretty much face down after eye surgery where i wrote the 2 books I had wanted to do, they are far away from racing and more on not only the power but the importance of the spoken word. I decided to have a little nibble on the punt in early January after hearing from a few Horsetorque lifers saying they hadnt won since the numbers stopped. Its Impossible! Flying blind!

I then had the ludicrous idea to start again from scratch just like i did 20 years ago with an Excel spreadsheet. My database on my PC, no IT costs, no servers no hosting no industry feeds required.

I have been so pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to do back ratings compared to when i started compiling averages pre Google in the 90's from huge reference Annual results books from the State Library archives.

Here we are 4 weeks later and I am back where I left off and I must tell you i feel with a far better Number Generator then ever before. I have some implemented some key changes I have wanted for some time, more influence of the last 400m in the XR (sectional rating) but have also been able to adjust them for distance as in the past the further the trip the bigger the XR,.

I do hope to have a website at some point again but at this stage it is ideal it will be a pay as you go PDF LITE for Sydney and Melbourne for now only $14 a week the same price it was back 20 years. It was $35 when the doors closed and now those costs are gone which i know makes many of my long termers and retirees very happy.
